Quick guide

How to use Methods Guards AI

Methods Guards AI helps read a scientific document from a methodological perspective. The report is not peer review: it is a preliminary diagnosis to identify strengths, weaknesses and possible corrective actions.

Recommended use

1

Prepare the PDF

Use a readable text-based PDF under 13 MB. Online-compressed PDFs, scanned PDFs, image-only documents or files without selectable text may produce incomplete results. When possible, use a text-based or OCR version.

2

Choose the engine

MG AI v1 is designed for a quick and compact diagnosis. MG AI v2 is more analytical and more attentive to the type of contribution.

3

Read the report

Focus on diagnosis, robustness, main criticisms and corrective actions. The score is an orientation tool, not a final judgment.

4

Check critically

Always compare the report with the original document. If a point is unclear, use it as a revision prompt rather than as an automatic conclusion.

How to interpret the result

The report evaluates only what is visible in the uploaded document: design, sample, instruments, analysis, results, limits and coherence of inferences. If information is not present in the PDF, Methods Guards AI should mark it as not assessable.

A low assessment does not automatically mean that the work has no value. It often means that some methodological information is not documented clearly enough. A high assessment, similarly, does not guarantee editorial acceptance or definitive scientific validity.

Use the report as support for revision: clarify procedures, specify criteria, document limits and make the chain from data to analysis and conclusions more transparent.

What it does not do

After the report

The best way to use Methods Guards AI is to turn its criticisms into a revision checklist: what to clarify, what to document, which limits to make explicit and which inferences should be made more cautious.
